Thesis

Most software businesses fail because they need either capital or headcount to reach economic relevance. Bcal Studio is built on the inverse premise: deep domain knowledge in distributed energy, executed by AI agents at variable cost, with the founder as the only permanent employee. Each business in this portfolio either originates from a real operating problem inside Bcal Energy or sells into the same buyer set we already serve. Adjacency is the moat. AI is the labor pool.

Operating principles

    Agents draft, research, file, and monitor. The founder owns the call on every customer commitment, every legal posture, every dollar booked.

    No W-2 staff. No retainer-funded teams. Every cost is metered usage that can be turned off the same day a product is wound down.
